FriendlyFaces.Events
Code of Conduct

The Friendly Faces group operates a zero-tolerance policy for behaviours that threaten or risk the safety or well-being of our community.
For our events, by RSVPing, attending, intending to attend (whether as a member, a guest, or simply by being in the same location as us by chance) - you agree to uphold and abide by this Code of Conduct.

These standards apply to all members across all Friendly Faces group spaces, in the context of events and digital communications.
The organisers reserve the right to investigate reported policy breaches. Any member found to have violated these or unaccepted behaviour thresholds (whether knowingly or unknowingly) may face immediate removal from the group. Organisers' decisions on removals are final.

If any text in this document is not clear, please report this to an organiser. As with all event descriptions, reading and understanding it in full (along with any future updates which may be added) is your responsibility, so please take the necessary time to read it thoroughly - lest you be removed from the group and not know why.

The "Big Five"

The first five rules in this document constitute the foundational "Big Five" rules upon which this group prides itself.
  1. Our events are for friendship and social-networking only. They are not dating or match-making events.
Do not engage in persistent or un-welcomed attention towards others (either at an event or afterwards).
  2. Having respect for others is non-negotiable.
Do not be disrespectful to others (whether this is directed at members of the group or outsiders).
  3. Drinking alcohol is normal (and optional) at these events, however our primary focus is on socialising, not on drinking to excess.
Do not become or arrive excessively drunk (or exhibit drunken behaviour).
  4. We are all automatically Friendly Faces group ambassadors at the places/locations/venues we visit.
Do not misuse/abuse a venue/location (or the staff or property within it).
  5. Our encouragement of others to attend more Friendly Faces events benefits us all.
Do not encourage others to break away from an event, harvest / share phone numbers, or promote products / events / other social groups.

Qualifying to Attend

  1. This group is for positive and independently able-bodied men and women. To ensure that all members can relate to each other, and share similar life attitudes and outlooks, attendees must be aged in their 30's and 40's (min 25, max 55). If you are not in these demographics then you do not qualify to join this group.
  2. All of our hiking events take us to remote and difficult-to-access areas. So for your safety, the safety of the group, and to allow hiking events to run smoothly and successfully you are required to satisfy all three of the following health-based criteria:
    • You are active and in good physical health,
    • you are injury free and are not suffering from any lingering aches or pains, and
    • you have no underlying conditions that could cause sudden physical impairment, fits, loss of consciousness, or emergency medical episodes.
If you do not meet any of these criteria then you do not qualify to attend our hiking events and should not add yourself to the attendees lists.

Ongoing Attendance

  1. Your first Friendly Faces event is free. 'First-timer' attendees are always welcome to come along and check out who we are and how we do things. After that if you wish to return for another one, becoming an official subscribing group-member is necessary. Please note that this is only permitted provided you are (strictly) between the group outer-age limits as stated in point 6 above.
    • When your subscription period ends, you may receive a polite reminder to renew.
    • Guests are like any other attendee in that their first event is free, and if they attend subsequent events they are expected to subscribe as a paying member.
Subscription payment details are available upon request.
